LAC 12 & Under Celebration
Short Course
January 2019

Over the weekend of January 19-20, 2019, 12 and under swimmers from Junior, AG4, AG3 and AG2 groups competed in the “London Aquatic Club - 12 and Under Celebration” meet in London, Ontario. Being the first meet since returning to a full swim schedule after the Christmas break, the swimmers did their best to shed off all the candy canes and treats they deservingly enjoyed over the holidays. The Club Warrior team, consisting of 47 swimmers, did a fantastic job taking home 52 medals (16 Gold, 10 Silver, and 26 Bronze) over the weekend. Parents and coaches deserve a ton of credit for battling the nasty weather on both days to make the trek to London.

The following individuals are the proud owners of flashy new medals:

DONG, Merlyn - 3 Gold
LOGAN, Quinlynn - 3 Gold
PIRVU, Spencer - 3 Gold
RICHTER, Luke - 2 Gold, 1 Silver, 2 Bronze

BROWN, Connor
MORRISSEY, Connor
ANDREWS, Emmerson
COBURN, Willow
COFFIN, Sarah
LIN, Daphne
SCHMIDT, Claire
WONG, Noe
ZHAN, Lucy
CIOROGARIU, Gabriel
HUNT, Trestan
HENDERSON, Lianna
MCLAUGHLIN, Emmalin

This fantastic group of swimmers also combined for 126 out of 166 personal best times for a percentage of 75.9%, not including those who were competing in first time events.

Special note to parents (especially those attending the Regional competition at the end of the month), the stands in this complex are sloped at a rate that would make your local city building code inspector have you redo your deck stairs. So if you have any uneasiness with heights, arrive early to secure a seat on the concourse level to avoid navigating the steep inclined stairs.

Congratulations to all swimmers and good luck to all those competing at the Western Regional Short Course meet at the end of the month.
