Welcome Message from the Head Coach – Russ Franklin

Welcome to all the new and returning Members. Club Warriors will be starting their eleventh swimming season on September 17th and we are all looking forward to another great year.

Since the beginning of CW’s existence back in 2007, every year we have had great individual swimmers who have ranked well Nationally, Provincially and Regionally while competing for the Warriors. This trend held true for last season but because of our growth in membership numbers we are now also a highly ranked program in the Team Standings category as well. For example, CW placed 16th at the recent Canadian Junior Swimming Championships, competing with over 130 clubs from across the country.

Our Introductory and Development Programs are also recognized as being one of the best in the province. Our founding head coach, Chuck Meklensek, implemented these programs 10 years ago and we are still currently using them today.

Club Warriors is a coach driven program, which is something that can’t be said of the majority of other swimming programs. When you swim with Club Warriors you know you will be getting great coaching from one of the most experienced staff in the country. Our programs, proven track record and coaching stability are key factors in the Club's success.

Our Board of Directors and Club Administrator work hard at running the Club, ensuring that we continue to operate in a fiscally responsible manner that ensures we stay "above water" especially with the skyrocketing costs of pool rentals. We also have a strong core of member volunteers that help take care of everything from communications to chaperoning, from managing CW equipment/apparel to officiating at meets, etc., etc.

As the head coach, I am proud of our dedicated athletes and their drive to reach their full swimming potential. Not every swimmer can make the Olympics or a National Team. But, no matter what level the swimmers aspire to, no matter what level is attained, it is the journey that is the big pay off for the child.

Club Warriors is dedicated to grow and develop people both in and out of the pool. Speaking of pools, see you on deck on the 17th.

Train Hard - Swim Fast,
Russ
