GMAC Winter Skills & Thrills
February 11, 2018

On February 11, 2018 Novice, Advanced, AG1 and select AG2 swimmers competed in the GMAC Winter Skills & Thrills swim meet at the University of Guelph. The Club Warrior Team consisted of 51 swimmers and placed 2 out of 8 teams with a total of 72 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons won. What an outstanding achievement.

The following individuals led the way by placing in the top three in 3 or more events:

Hamza Ammar
Nicholas Habib
Kevin Huang
Kaleb Hunt
Stuart McKenna
Luke Richter
Justin Rondilla
Rayane Alarbed
Laila Barichello
Luisa Coskun
Claire Qin
Rosalind Thompson
Jan Wang
Elayna Zunic

Special mention should be made for both Laila and Elayna who placed 1st in all 4 of their events...WOW!

The coaches did a fantastic job preparing our swimmers for this meet which was evident by the many personal bests that were set. It should also be noted that all swimmers did a great job representing the CW team by displaying tonnes of encouragement for teammates and great sportsmanship to all swimmers and officials.

As a reminder for the upcoming meets, please have your swimmers arrive on time for warm-ups and to ensure you get a seat in stands. Also, please remember to send plenty of water and healthy snacks with your swimmers. Foods that keep energy up include protein rich foods such as yogurts, cheese, as well as veggies and dip, and pieces of fruit.

Full meet results are posted on the Swimming Canada website:
